Ruth Kübler - Images of Light
Ruth Kübler was born in 1925 in Berlin and is since 1952 resident in Stuttgart, Germany. After following a graphic training, she developed her own totally autonomous painting technique. The inner spark for her development was derived from a broad-minded susceptibility to religious and philosophical thought - her main inspiration is derived from her understanding of the Work “In the Light of Truth”, the Grail Message by Abd-ru-shin. Apart from this, the colour theory of Goethe and the colour wheel of Philipp Otto Runge served as external stimuli to her.
The images of light are always based on the use of one colour with transitions to white and to the space, which is edged with black. Through these numerous nuances she wants to express the complete “sounds” of one colour in an appropriate composition. Geometric forms seem to be the most suitable for this purpose and, in combination with the subtle colour nuances; it causes the white light to radiate intensively. The subtlety of the colour transitions determines the vibration of bright white light and, as such, the perception of space increases. Sunlight is not the intention here, but white light, which contains and symbolises the genesis of all existence. She wants to create images embodied with constructive energy, images to be comprehended with the heart and not with the mind.
Her first compositions consisted almost exclusively of geometric forms and fields. Landscapes infused with cosmic impulses and moods were later introduced. For a long period she worked in isolation, but since 1982 she has exhibited frequently in Germany and further afield. A series of 24 signed reproductions on original format was exhibited as distant as Russia and the United States of America.
Ruth Kübler also works with glass and photography. Through her approach to nature photography she generates awareness in the spectator of the form giving powers at work in nature.
